About Daniel

I am Daniel Lalawng (La-Long), an IT professional and father of Momo (my dog), with a wealth of experience and a relentless passion for technology and innovation. With a strong foundation in cloud computing, I have honed my skills in system administration, network security, and IT infrastructure management. My journey in the field of IT began with academic excellence, culminating in a Bachelor of Science in Computer Networks and Cybersecurity, followed by a Master of Science in Cloud Computing Architecture. Currently pursuing a Doctorate in Information Technology, I am committed to pushing the boundaries of knowledge and staying at the forefront of technological advancements.

As an Air Force Veteran and the first in my family to earn a master's degree, I bring a unique perspective and a strong sense of dedication to my work. As a first-generation Burmese, I value diversity, inclusivity, and cultural awareness, enriching my interactions with colleagues and clients from diverse backgrounds.

Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a remarkable ability to tackle complex challenges and deliver exceptional results. As a Help Desk Team Lead at General Dynamics IT, I provided technical support and troubleshooting services, managing a database of over 650 computers with 100% asset management inventory and accountability. I also played a crucial role in implementing standardized desktop configurations and streamlining machine imaging and configuration processes.

My expertise extends beyond technical skills; I am renowned for my outstanding customer service and communication skills. As a Client Systems Supervisor in the United States Air Force, I trained and mentored new employees, resulting in a 50% reduction in training time. My dedication to customer service excellence earned me recognition from my Unit Commander for attention to detail, dedication, and effective communication.

In addition to my professional achievements, I am deeply committed to continuous learning and development. I hold certifications in CompTIA Security+ and CompTIA A+, showcasing my expertise in IT security and best practices. I aim to acquire certifications such as AWS SysOps Administrator and other cloud-related credentials like CompTIA Cloud+ in the near future.

Outside work, I am passionate about exploring new technologies and staying updated with industry trends. My proposed capstone project for my doctorate focuses on the perceptions of users on privacy and trust in cloud security, examining how these perceptions influence their decisions to share personal information. I firmly believe that given my employer's time, resources, and support, I can learn anything and provide immeasurable benefits through my dedication to continuous learning and excellence in IT.

With a strong work ethic, a passion for excellence, and a drive to make a positive impact, I am a valuable asset to any organization seeking a forward-thinking IT specialist.

My hobbies include but are not limited to online gaming (MMORPG and FPS) and gardening (food and ornamental) in the springtime.
